Dawn

The ocean called to me at 4:30 this morning after Gary left for fishing.
It whispered gray secrets in my ear when I arrived.

Then it tempted me with lavender lace.

It offered a ride to eternity.

And wrapped me in its foggy embrace.

Seagulls wheeled, looking for breakfast.

My heart stood still.  My breath stopped.

The pier waited in misty patience.

The seconds passed in technicolor.

The birds danced to the music of the sky.

The sun painted its reflection on the calm sea.

I swallowed its light
then brought it back with me
to savor all day.

These are the most remarkable sequence of photos of a sunrise that I have ever seen. Excellent timing, crisp color, and your descriptions, as always, are 'planted in my brain...within the sounds of silence'.

Superb!

I am so deeply envious of your proximity to the ocean! Even from the pictures, it is beckoning me with its soft whisperings of tranquility.

A lovely series that gets one in the mood to appreciate the end so much more!

Sunrise to sunset was captured so beautifully both in prose and photo!

You wove your photos together skillfully with just the right words!

WHEN PLANETS PLUMMET

When planets plummet
And comets careen,
It’s the strangest sight
You ever have seen.

When drunk stars stagger
And comets collide,
It’s time to look up
As you go outside

To stare at the sky
Where the strangest sight
Is the moon-faced thing
That you see at night.
