Train Ride

I've tried several times, now, to get a good picture of this page but the light is never right.

It was such a vibrant day and these pics seems so dark!

Holy Orange!

Some women get flowers. Some women get candy. What do I get? Feathers! LOL

My husband found this hawk feather at his job and thought I'd like it for my journal. He was right!

Another thing I found when I was going through drawers is an old autograph book that I got when I was ten. It was falling apart so I decided to use some of the pages in my journal. This one was written by my younger sister.

From my seat in the living room I could see that maple tree reflected in an antique mirror we have in the hallway. I almost needed sunglasses!

Talk About Messing Up!

I can't believe I wrote the wrong day on this!

And that "like" is a mess! I don't use stamps very often. These are those acrylic ones that come with a clear block. I put the four letters on the block, inked them, but when I turned it over, the "I" flopped sideways covering part of the "K" and I didn't notice it until it was on the page. We'll call it a learning experience!

When I came out of the library, the clouds had cleared away after a day of rain and it was just so pretty sitting there under a blue sky that I had to take a picture. It's an old building, as you can see, and way too small, but beautiful. The air conditioner and windows are new since the last time I was there but, other than a few computers, it was just like I remembered it.

It's Snowing Leaves!

I thought it was kind of funny to see my husband's boat getting covered with fall leaves.

This was taken a week ago. This week 99% of the leaves are gone.

Fun

Here are more pictures from our last weekend at camp.

Again, I took the picture of this page in poor light. That's why the photo in the upper left-hand corner looks washed out. It's just that at this time of the year, it's almost dark by the time I get home from school! Guess I'll have to experiment for better results.

Erin's bracelet from when she was born

The picture is from a quilt calendar my camper friend, Donna, gave me. It was perfect for Columbus Day Weekend when the moon was almost this full.

Two Creative Cuties

Whenever Michelle visits, she always asks to work in my journal and I'm more than happy to let her.

Last weekend she had Tori to help her and they had fun designing this page by using the snippets I had on my craft desk. They left a space for me to say a few words with the directive, "Write" next to it.

I just love these two girls!

Junk Drawer Finds

Didn't have time to do any journaling last week because I was just too pooped from the nutty week at school and getting both my mom and mother-in-law off to Florida. They arrived safely, I'm happy to say.

I went through a drawer at camp last weekend and found all kinds of cool stuff to use in my journal.

Quite the Boat Ride!

We had such a great ride looking at all the beautiful scenery. The fall leaves were showing off and the sky was the perfect blue backdrop for them.

Then we had to try to dock the boat!

As I was sitting at my desk working on this page, the bird picture by Lisa at Simple Journeys caught my eye because the colors were perfect for the background. I love what the bird symbolizes for me. I'm a word person and love to "fly" with my poetry. Thanks, again, Lisa, for making something for me that fits me to a T!

Three Cuties

My niece, Alissa, came up to visit my mom with her two boys, James who is almost 6 and River, who is almost 4. My daughter, Erin, also picked that day to visit my mom with her little girl, Kylie.
I had a hair appointment that afternoon after school so only got to see them for about 5 minutes. Darn! My mom had a blast playing with and watching the kids.

The Good and the Bad

Yes, yes, I know. Another poor quality picture. I took this one last night. I should have waited until today when the sun was shining. I know I should have. But sometimes I just can't wait!

There, I took this one today and it's so much better! Somebody slap me!

We made it to camp for the weekend. It's nice to have two days to relax. It's supposed to be sunny but cool. I hope to bike to the beach, anyway. I have my parka down here so will take that with me.
