Hmmm...

This is one of those pages that I had high hopes for. The background colors came out so pretty.

So, then, what happened? Maybe I should have done something prettier with the newspaper clippings.

Anyway, Gary heard today that he'll get paid $1850 for the tuna. He's happy but hopes he'll get a few more. At least it will help pay for the gas he's used!

This is a better quality photo. I took this one at camp under natural light. So much better!

I took the picture of this page at night and had to move my camera to an awkward angle to eliminate the glare from the lamp.

I've got to start taking them right after school while there is still natural light.

I can't believe the flowers in the window box are doing so well. Once my mom went into the hospital, no one watered them for about 3 weeks and it wasn't very rainy, either. But, they just keep blossoming away!

This is one of those pages that looks so much prettier in person. The photo of it just doesn't do it justice.

The End of Last Week

Just a taste of what I do in school every Friday.

A Purple Page

I know I should have waited until daylight to take the picture of this page. The quality would have been so much better. But I was too impatient.

A Weekend at Home

I just got a call that my own computer is ready!

Yes!

Later: Ah, it feels so good. I really didn't like that school computer.

I was happy to stay at home and avoid that two-and-a-half-hour drive to and from camp. I had an awful cold so it was nice to just stay put. My nose is still running but I'm feeling so much better and did go to school Monday.

Plus, I had a wonderful book to read. The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs is soooo good! I couldn't put it down. I wrote a little bit about it on my reading blog here.

Bleck!

Well, these colors didn't come out that great! Every page is an experiment; some are succesful, some not so.

The leaf with the wooden ladybug is from my friend in Florida. She sent it last spring and I put it aside to use sometime. I was gone all summer and found it last week waiting patiently on my craft desk.

I'm still missing my own computer!

Computer Woes

I was downloading my newest journal page last night when my screen went black and would not come back on. So, today I took it to the hospital. Tonight I'm using one of the laptops from school at home but I don't...wait a minute, there is a place for an SD card! I'll be back maybe with a picture!

Yes! It worked! These school computers are not the most powerful things. But, hey, I'm not complaining! At least it works!

I took the picture at the beach on Sunday.

Mom Update: She came home from the hospital yesterday and is doing really well. She went up and down the stairs several times today without me being right behind her. I'm so encouraged!

Ah, Back at Camp!

Since my mom couldn't leave the hospital, I decided to drive to camp on Friday evening. My brother visited her on Saturday so I didn't feel as quilty about not being there. I did call and she said she was feeling better. I'll be back up there tonight to see her.

It felt good to work on a page and this one was especially serendipitous since I had no plan in mind when I started but everything just fell into place. Love it when that happens!

Holy Pink!

Here's another page I did last weekend.

Again, I left my journal at camp because that is where all my paints are. I suppose I could paint a page ahead of time then work on it at home during the week. Maybe I'll try that next weekend.

I miss it!

My mom is still in the hospital with a bladder infection now. She was supposed to get out on Tuesday but her temperature keeps spiking so they won't release her yet. We did play a game of cards today, though, and she did pretty well. Maybe she can get out tomorrow. I'm hoping, anyway!
