More Computer Woes

I had to take my computer in to get it repaired...AGAIN!  I had a virus in my yahoo email and the whole thing just wasn't acting right.  I'm using a school laptop at home this week while I wait but I'm not happy about this!

I took it in to a new place about a month ago during my April vacation.  They were able to "fix" it right that day.  That should have tipped me off!  It seems like right after I got it back, it started acting weird.

So, this time I took it to a place that has been around for years.  Only when I got there, the place was empty. There was no note on the door either. So I went upstairs where they have their corporate offices and was told that the repair shop had moved.  So, it only took me three tries to drop the stupid thing off!

Hopefully, I'll get it back by the beginning of next week.

We're having summer-like weather: mid 80s and humid.  Gary's at camp and he said it was 90 there today.  It's supposed to be a bit cooler but still nice for the Memorial Day weekend.

Kylie will be going to camp with us and I'm looking forward to that!  I should have pictures to post when I get my computer back.

I Love This Place

I ride my bike to the beach,
lock it to the bike stand,
unstrap my saddlebag,
walk up and over
the dune grass
on a wooden path,
then see this.

Dottie's Backyard

My friend Dottie invited me over last night to take some pictures of the beautiful flowers growing in her back yard.

Afterwards, we took a nice walk and I was able to get this picture of Mt. Washington and the Androscoggin River.  See the "7" on the mountain?  When we were kids, we weren't allowed to go swimming until the seven had melted.

More Flowers

Saw all these beauties on my walk tonight.

Apple Blossoms.  Check out the cool bokeh in the background.

Strawberry Blossoms

I love these little star-like things.

Chokecherry blossoms

Not sure what these are.
It's such a treat to walk around the streets near my home and see all this new awakening nature.

Took a bike ride to the beach this afternoon,  It was pretty much deserted.  It was in the 60s but the breeze was stiff.  I enjoyed it anyway.

I love waves!

Poetry Reading

I so enjoyed going to An Evening with Naomi Shihab Nye.  She's a wonderful speaker and the hour and a half flew by.  It was worth the 2 hour drive to go see her.

Weekend Mailbox

Gemma of Greyscale Territory has started a new meme called Weekend Mailbox.  Anything having to do with mail is accepted.
This is my great uncle's old trunk.  It's filled with letters from my friend, Anne, who lives in Florida.  We correspond several time a week and I've never thrown any of her letters away.

...And Two Weeks Later

Yes, I started this page two weeks ago and it sat on my craft desk all that time until yesterday afternoon when I got home from school and felt like working on it.
The "stamps" at the top of the right page were junk mail.
The abstract stamp, Rockwell picture, and foot paper clip are from my friend, Anne, in Florida.
I'm still enjoying all the international stamps I'm getting through Postcrossing.
The blue and yellow flower was on a birthday card the FCCLA students gave me.
On the way back from Nay's we stopped and got some Fiji water.  It's the best!

Babies

Went for a walk tonight and saw all these babies:

I think these are forget-me-nots.

Even evergreens make babies!

White blossoms.

The first lilac buds opening.

And plain old grass with jewels.

Check out Scenic Sunday for more photographs of our beautiful world.

Ocean Park Beach

Looking right:

And looking left.  You can see the famous Old Orchard Beach Pier.

It was really warm at camp so I hopped on my bike and rode ten minutes to the beach.  Luckily, I packed my wind breaker because there was quite a brisk breeze coming off the ocean.  I stayed about an hour.  I wrote a letter and read my book.

You can see more scenes at Scenic Sunday.
