The End Is in Sight!

Here are numbers 26 & 27. I've written 28 & 29 but still have to journal them and just have the 30th to do.

As much as I enjoy writing poetry, I'm glad this month is over! That was hard to do! Of course, putting them in my journal was even more work.

I Love My New Camera!

I had such a good time at the Unity Street Park on Friday.

Sunday night when I took my walk, it was still fairly light out so I took my camera with me and found these lilacs poking their heads out. If you enlarge the buds, you can see a lot more detail.

Finally!

Took these pictures in our back yard yesterday. The first is a crocus drinking up the sun and the second is a lilac ready to pop.

And even a bug!

Three Days of Kylie Fun

The house seems so quiet without her here! But I'm still picking up the pieces; those are her stick-on earrings. I've been finding them everywhere!

All Thumbs

Well, one thumb, anyway, to hold the page in place while I was on the porch trying to photograph this page in the windy morning.

It was fun working on a black page!

"Making Lazy Circles in the Sky"

Anybody recognize those lyrics?

I tried to catch the birds soaring in the updrafts.

Vacation Time

Enjoying my vacation and time with Kylie. It's easier now that she's older and doesn't need my constant attention.

I was even able to keep up with my poems and do this page.

And, now, we're going to get dressed and go to the playground.

The Language of Letters

I think my friend, Anne, is psychic because every time I need something for a journal page, it turns up in my mailbox. This little pink envelope arrived on Saturday and was the perfect addition to this poem about how we sustain our friendship with letters.

Thanks, Anne!

With a Little Help from My Friends

The stamps are from Lisa.

The tea cup and flowers are from Anne.

The table is from Susan Branch. Okay, she's not my friend, but I wish she was! I love her homey designs.

Half Way Through

I'm finding this poem-a-day thing even easier than the Moon Journal!

April vacation has officially begun! It's in the fifties and sunny so I'm heading out to the front porch to read.

SkyWatch Friday: Across the Street

Yes, this is the view from our living room looking across the street but I did have to get up off my butt to take it because of the telephone wires in the way!

It was some pretty evening!

Check out SkyWatch Friday for more awesome skies.

Can You Say Chartreuse?

This is another of my new colors.

Starting to Catch Up

I got to go to Michael's on Saturday and picked up some new paint colors. These were 3 for $1. Can't beat that!

I also bought these insect rub-ons.

Nathan's Place

We visited our son last weekend in Keene. Last fall he purchased a repossed home and decided to gut the whole thing. He's been working on it ever since.

This is the view from his deck looking west across Wilson Pond.

This is the view from the master bedroom

Here's Gary getting ready to paint the ceiling.
And this is the view from his dining area. He still has a lot of work to do but we helped by painting all the ceilings and the downstairs walls.

Poeming On

We went out of town this weekend to visit our son and help him with the house he's renovating. He lives about 3 hours away.

So, this is the last page I have completed. I've got poems written, though, but it will take me a few days to get caught up.

"Gunka"

Thanks to Lisa for the napkin that I used as a border!

Thanks to Anne for the bunny, stamp, and jewels!

Thanks to Nathan, Bob, and Elli for this memory!

A Great Way to Wake Up

This is what I woke up to this morning. I saw it from the bathroom window so ran downstairs, grabbed my camera and went out on the back porch in my baby-doll pj's to snap a few pictures.

I'm hoping the neighbors were still sleeping!

Still Keeping Up

Six for six so far! We're going out of town this weekend to visit our son about 3 hours away so I hope I will be able to write my weekend poems.

The Weekend Page

Darn, I just noticed that one of the stamps has a reflection from my flash on it.

I had fun making the background by gluing snippets of leftover patterned paper, gessoing, wiping, and painting, and wiping.

I don't have very many ink stamps but did have the three flowers that I colored in with pens.

And, these poems were fun to write!

Two More Days

These two poems contain a couple of pleasant memories.

I should have planned better and left a larger space for my parents' wedding picture. So beautiful!

30 Poems in 30 Days?

That's the NaPoWriMo challenge. April is National Poetry Month and I gave this assignment to my Poetry-Writing students. I always do the assignments with them and decided to keep mine in my daily journal.

As a help, ReadWritePoem is posting daily prompts. On the first day we had to use a metaphor.

I tried this challenge last year and found it very difficult and swore I'd never do it again, but...I'm just a glutton for punishment, I guess!

It's a Wonderful World

I took this picture of Mt. Washington one morning a couple weeks ago. It was about 18 degrees out. The best view of it from our town is from a bridge spanning the Androscoggin River. The only problem is that there is a chain link fence that extends down to about a foot from the bottom. I ended up having to lie flat on my stomach to take the pictures. That was some cold tar on the bridge!

This is my page for Cindy's "Wonderful World" Round Robin book.
