Our Version of a Sunset

A reflection.

I took this from an open upstairs window one evening last week looking northeast while the sun was but a memory having slipped behind our western mountains earlier.

For more skies (and maybe a real sunset!) visit SkyWatch Friday.

Vacation Week

Took a walk up my husband's skid road on Sunday and saw these two deer. The lower one was a bit skittish and ran off after about 30 seconds, but the upper one was a model and stood there for about 5 minutes. What a treat!

And another treat! Kylie is here for a visit and we're having a blast!

The Last Moon

I think this is the last time I'll see the moon this cycle. Since Wednesday morning when I took this picture, it's been cloudy every morning and the new moon is this week.

Monday Monday

Hmmm...very dark! Sorry, I really need a better place to take pictures in the winter. I turned the flash off but, I think, I could have left it on since there isn't a glossy photo on this page.

Oh, well, I'm still learning. But I do like how clear and crisp it is.

I Love Lazy Days

When I went for a walk in the evening, there were so many stars so I felt confident that I'd be able to see the moon.

I checked several times during the night and again early in the morning but it had clouded up.

Dark!

I did a black page about a year ago and really liked it. Unfortunately, this one didn't come out very nice.

I got a kick out of the postcard Nay sent us from Amsterdam.

White on White

I poked my head out of my classroom window this afternoon to get this shot of snow-covered limbs against the sky.

Go to SkyWatch Friday to see more great sky pictures.

Hallelujah!

It was a treat to see the moon in the middle of the night. No camera handy, though.

Night 18 of Moon Journal

I guess it should be called a cloudy night journal!

Another Moonless Night

It started raining at supper time so there was no chance to see the moon.

We did have a nice time at the Valentine's Day buffet. I'm not a big buffet person, but this place does a fantastic job. The place was packed!

I Hate Cloudy Nights!

I was hoping to see the fullish moon tonight but no luck!

Full!

I've done two other Moon Journals and this is the first time we've actually seen the full moon.

I was pretty psyched!

Ghostly Moon

I was so happy to catch the moon just as it crested Cates Hill.

A Good Reason to Get up Early

Looks like a little bit of heaven shining through!

Bummed

I took the nicest walk in the woods up Gary's skid road on Saturday afternoon.

I saw three deer.

It would have been a perfect day if there'd been a moon.

What a Moon!

I noticed that I goofed on the left side when I wrote that Dottie and Stan came over "last" night. They were over on Thursday but I didn't write it until Friday. Duh!

What a Bunch!

It's a lot of work to keep my journal goiong every night. My life is just not that exciting! Not much happened last Wednesday as you can see.

We did have fun on the snowshoes, though.

Normal is Good!

I love the way the white birch trees were lit up when I snapped the bottom moon picture.

Moon Journal, cont.

Still practicing with the different settings on my camera. I turned the flash off for this picture because it kept reflecting in the moon photo. Consequently, the whole page looks a little dark.

I have a hard time finding good light for pictures during the week since the sun has already slipped behing Mt. Forist when I get home from school.

But I'm having fun experimenting! This morning (Saturday) I went outside in -12 degrees to snap a picture of the sunrise.

New Camera

This is the first moon picture I took with my new camera.

The photo, istelf, is kind of a mess because every time I close the book, it rubs against the paint on the opposite page and gets worn away. I'll have to do something about that!

The "cake" was on a card from my sister, Sally, and arrived just in time and fit perfectly in the space I had left to fill on this layout.

Blushing in NH

I got a new Nikon camera for my birthday and took this picture Tuesday morning just as I was ready to head to school.

Can't help but have a good day after a sunrise like this!

Go to SkyWatch Friday to see more fantastic sky pictures.

Fun!

We had such a good time Saturday night at the Shannon Door Restaurant with family.

Don't Nathan and Danielle make a nice couple?

Everyone chipped in and bought me a new camera. I love it!

The pictures of the moon were taken with my old camera. The lighter one on our way into the restaurant and the darker one on our way home through the notch.

Gray

This is a pretty quiet spread. It was cloudy so no moon.

Plus, it was Friday evening and I really just wanted to relax and not do anything after the busy day I'd had.

Tagged

I was tagged by Lisa to post the 6th picture in my 6th photo folder. Well, for Christmas my son gave me a portable storage device and I transferred all my photos to it so I could delete them from my computer. I only have a few folders left so went to the 6th one. This is the fourth picture. That's all there is!

Luckily, it's a picture of my favorite person in the whole world: my granddaughter Kylie. This was taken a few weeks ago when she came to visit for the day.

The minute anyone aims a camera in her direction, she automatically says, "Cheese."

The Moon!

I was pretty happy to see the moon this night!

Plus, it was my birthday and all the things on the left came in the mail that day.

We didn't celebrate it until Saturday night but it was still cool to get lots of mail on the actual day.

Another Snowy Day

Snow+Wind=Yuck!

Check out the cost of the stamp! It was on an express mail package from my mother-in-law.

Of course, the moon was not visible.
