Still No Moon!

The last time I taught Nature Journaling, I saw the moon on the second night when I took a walk. We live at the bottom of Mt. Forist and it blocks the moon but there are other parts of the city where the moon is visible.

I even rode around but no luck.

The boat heading into the sunset was on a letter form Anne, my Florida friend.

And check out the cool new Oregon stamp!

Another Moon Journal

Here we go again.

Because our school operates on a block schedule, I got all new kids on Monday and am teaching an elective called Nature Journaling.

Because the 26th was the night of the new moon, I had them start their Moon Journals. I always do the assignments along with the kids and decided this year to keep it in my regular journal. On the left will be my day and on the right will be the moon's progress.

Of course, a new moon means that we can't see it so I told the kids just to look at the sky any time after school. I went out at 4:45 pm and captured a pretty early-evening cloud. I had a hard time to take the picture because of all the telephone wires around here.

A Slow Week

Not much was going on this week. I was so desperate for stuff to put on this page that I snagged the "Safe Handling" sticker from the meat market!

I used the patriotic colors to commemorate the Inauguation.

And the bubble stickers of Mt. Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty were on a letter from Anne.

UFOs in New Hampshire

I took this picture on my way out of school on Wednesday. I couldn't get over how the clouds looked like spaceships hovering over our small city.

Almost scary!

A Long Weekend

I know the pages are in the wrong order.

I took the picture of the crescent moon about 7:15 on Monday morning when I was out snowblowing the foot of snow we got on Sunday. It looked so pretty next to the fir trees.

Those "Free" stickers were on junk mail but I thought they were appropriate for Civil Rights Day.

The snowflakes are from Christmas cards.

And, of course, the Kylie day just made my weekend.

Later: I just noticed that I wrote 2008 on this page. I'll get it right one of these days!

A Pink Page

I worked on this page a little bit for a few days.

The picture of Kylie and her great grandmother, my mother-in-law, was taken last summer.

We don't have very many pictures of Kylie with my husband and myself so I was glad Erin took this one and gave us a copy.

The pretty ATC is from Lisa. She does such pretty work.

SkyWatch Friday: Watermelon Clouds

I was just getting into my vehicle Tuesday morning when I glanced toward the East and saw these pretty little clouds the color of watermelon painting the gray sky.

Blue and Green Should Never Be Seen Except in the Washing Machine

I remember when I was in grammar school, saying that little rhyme whenever anyone wore blue and green together.

I did this one about a week ago. It was a pretty boring week so there isn't much on the page.

But boring is good! I'm not complaining!

Well, I Tried!

I'm not sure what color I was trying to achieve for this background but it just didn't come out right.

And then the green pen I used was the wrong green!

And the red of the amaryllis doesn't match anything!

Some days you just can't win!

An Award!

Lisa at Simple Journeys awarded me! Thanks, Lisa!

This award states:
"This blog invests and believes in proximity - nearness in space, time, and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of the prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award."

I don't think I even know 8 bloggers to pass this on to! But I really appreciate Lisa thinking of me!

A New Year and a New Journal

I just planned on doing the right side since it's the first page but I got paint on the left side so just went ahead and covered the whole thing.

My friend, Anne, took the picture of the extra large full moon and sent me a copy.

The Last Page

I didn't mean to make this page look patriotic but that's what happened.

These are pictures from our overnight trip to Maine.

This is the last page in my second visual journal. There are actually about four pages left but I decided the new year would be the perfect time to begin a new one. Plus, this one is so thick that I've been having a hard time doing the left side.
