Mid Week

That huge fish was in a birthday card my husband got from my friend, Anne.  Right up his alley!

Found it!

I was in the guest room this morning changing the sheets because Nathan and Danielle are on their way up for the weekend.  I happened to glance on the shelf of the night table and there the third shell was!  All snug in this metal basket that was originally downstairs; she hid that, too!
Here's the whole story if you missed the first part.

Enjoying Myself

I bought the gold pen about a month ago and forgot about it until I reorganized my craft area the other day.  I love it!  It writes easily on the acrylic paint and it's not too skinny.  It's a Gelly Roll metallic.  I'm going to look for more of these!

Ah, Vacation!

When I used the last Lunar New Year stamp, I almsot threw the sheet they came on away.
But I didn't and used it here.

Mystery

About a month ago when we went to Maine for the weekend, I picked up three shells from Ocean Park Beach.
When Kylie came to visit a couple weeks ago, she loved them and would pick them up, hold her hand up for silence, and try to hear the ocean.

After she left, I couldn't find the shells.  I figured she'd taken them with her which was fine.
Today I decided to clean the dining room.  As I was dusting the hutch,

I moved the old picture of my mom and dad

and found one of the shells!
Then I moved on to some knickknacks on the piano.  This teapot

didn't look very dirty and I almost didn't wash it but at the last minute figured I should since everything else was getting a bath.  When I took the cover off,

there was another shell!
That little stinker must have hidden them when I wasn't looking.
I haven't found the third one, yet, but I'm sure it's around here somewhere.

A Walk in the Woods

I drove up to my husband's logging job today.
When I got there, the crane operator was there slashing the logs.
Then we got on my husband's skidder
and drove up into the woods.
On the way up to where he was cutting, we saw this:
I was thrilled!
Then he left me off
and continued on toward the trees waiting to be cut.
I walked down the skidder trail
back to his wood yard.
On the way, I saw this critter:
Some kind of mole or vole.
It had a red nose.  Any body know what it is?

On my way out, I took a picture of a couple of my husband's wood piles:
It's amazing to me that he works by himself with just an old skidder and produces so much wood.

Kiwi

That was the color of this acrylic paint.

Finally, a New page!

I've been a little lax in the journal department, I have to admit.  It's not my fault, though; blame it on the Olympics and Kylie!

She chose the colors and painted this page and left her initial.  I've been filling it in.

Exuberance

Kylie and I are so much alike.
We both love to read,
play school,
joke around,
and go the beach.

Weight Update

Even though I haven't been posting my food intake, weight, and exercise, I'm still trying to lose a bit or, at least, not gain too much.

So this morning I got on the scale and was surprised and pleased to see 155.9.  I'll take that!  Especially after a weekend away and restaurant food.

I'm still eating pretty much the same thing: toast with something on it for breakfast with a banana, popcorn for snack, a sandwich, fruit, and veggie for lunch, and whatever for supper.

I've been walking pretty regularly, too, so I'm happy about that.

I don't think I'll get on the scale for a few days; I'd rather bask in the glow of the lowest weight I've been for quite a while now for a little while longer.

Swimming

Here's Kylie (That's a little piece of Oreo on the side of her mouth) jumping on the hotel bed ready to head downstairs to the pool.

I didn't put my bathing suit on.  I figured Gary and I would just sit and watch her play.  As soon as we got there, she went right over to the pool stairs and walked right down...unitl she was over her head!  I had to walk down several wet steps in my sneakers and jeans to get her!

After that I left Gary in charge and went up to change into my suit then played in the pool with her for an hour.

A Nice Walk

It was sunny and in the 20s so I went for a walk down this snowmobile tail after school today and saw this:

The Shower that Wasn't

Kylie and I worked together on this page.  We should have been at the shower for Brandi but she can't travel so couldn't come up here for her own shower.

Hopefully, we'll get to see her and the boys after they are born.

Found Poetry

I heard this on the Channel 13 news this morning.  Sarah Long, the meteorologist, was talking about how the days are getting longer.  "By the end of February, we'll have added 70 inches of sunshine to our day."

She noticed right away and said, "I mean minutes!"

But it tickled the poet in me!

A Postcard and a Card

My friend, Anne, sent me the most beautiful birthday card.
Thanks, Anne!
