River Fun

The sun is glinting
off the top
of the boat.

We're drifting
in the Saco River
so the kids can swim.

Teenagers Michelle,
Tori, and Ryan
take turns jumping

from as high up
as they can find.

Kylie, seven, wants

to follow. She tip-toes
near the edge, holds
on, bends her knees,

backs away, listens
to encouragement,
tries again, hesitates,

steps back, again,
even sheds a few tears;

she wants this so bad.

She's braver than she
knows, though.
One, two, three....

"I believe I can fly!"
she screams.
And she's airborne.

Success. We all
clap and cheer.
She climbs back

into the boat declaring,
"I'm going again.
I can't believe I was

such a crybaby."
I believe you can
fly, too, Ky!

Good Morning, Sunshine!

Look who's in a good mood in the morning when Grampy wakes her up too early!

Mid-July Fun

First, I took my Ollo Clip out to play.

Then we hopped on the motorcycles and went to The Brunswick at the beach for lunch.

Old Orchard Beach from my stool at the restaurant.

Taken from the back of Gary's bike of Nathan going through Ocean Park.

And a tiny selfie as we were leaving the restaurant turning onto the road.

Happy Fourth!

We decided to take the boat out on the ocean to watch the fireworks.

I love how Kylie and Michelle get along so well!

The sky was so pretty.

This is looking at the beach with the Ferris Wheel and rides all lit up.

It's not easy to take photos when the boat is rocking!

But it makes for some cool designs.
