That's the real color of the paint I used. But, here, it looks blue!

Happy Thanksgiving!
So nice to wake up to a beautiful sunrise. It's 12 degrees and the skies are clear.
The days on this spread were incredibly peaceful and restful and restorative. The weather was mild and I enjoyed my alone time. The filigree leaves are from a Thanksgiving card Anne and her daughters sent.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Where Did the Week Go?
Seems like I just posted that last page and here it is almost a week later.
We owned the Northern Peaks Motel back in the 90s. This postcard was one of the old ones the previous owner had. I think the picture is from the 50s! We had new ones made but I didn't save one of those. Well, I hadn't saved this one either; my friend, Anne, sent it to me.
The circular star sticker says, "Kyle" on it. Gary picked a booklet of them up for Kylie. He thought she could just add an "i" to it!

Kylie's Art Work
Kylie loves to draw in my journal. She asked if she could draw her new ZhuZhu pet. She named it Talulah after the character of the same name in the Maisy books she still loves.
Here she is hard at work on it.

My Day
It started with the sun peeking over the mountain. It was 20 degrees.
After breakfast I headed to Glen Ellis Falls in Pinkham Notch. It's about 20 miles away. This is a beautiful area that has a nice walking path.
This is the river just before it falls.
The water falls 64 feet.
As I headed back up the stairs, I stooped down and took this picture. I love how the flare cascades over everything.
Then I got some exercise walking back up these stairs.

Let's Go for a Walk
Come with me as we take a walk through the woods. Don't you just love these white birches?
I took a bunch of pictures of dead foliage. These fluffy things were so pretty in the sun.
And these dried daisy-like flowers caught my eye.
Love this gossamer stuff.
There are still a few golden leaves hanging from the trees.
I played around with the timer feature on my camera and managed to snap this of me sitting on a rock in the sun. I was wishing I'd taken my book with me so I could have sat there for awhile. It was such a bonus day!
Hope you enjoyed your hike through the gorgeous woods of northern NH!

A Couple Days Off
Since Veteran's Day falls on a Thursday this year, they gave us Friday, too! Yipee!
Gary's on his way to Florida, again! His mom fell and broke her vertebrae and is being operated on today. Because of his father's short-term memory loss, he can't be left alone so Gary's gone down to care for him.
The background to this page is a shimmery green. The glitter doesn't show up in a photo very well, unfortunately.
It's a beautiful, sunny day in the 40s so my friend Dottie is coming over and we're going for a walk.

Look Who's Visiting
Erin broght Kylie up for the weekend. Hooray!
Here, Kylie is explaining the rules of the game she made up using her Maisy doll house to her mother.
After Erin left, we went to Walmart and Kylie was allowed to pick out one toy for no more than $10. She chose a ZhuShu Pet. I'd never heard of them but she said two of her friends in pre-school have them. They're these little hampsters that move and make funny noises. It was $7 so I let her get a Dora puzzle for $4. I know we went over!
On the way out she said, "I'm so glad I have a nice Grammy."
And I'm go glad I have her!

A Fall Leaf
The leaf on the right fell from the tree outside my kitchen window. I put a glaze over it and hope it'll last. The copper leaves are from my friend in Florida along with the pumpkins and the fall scene on the left.
Things at school are beginning to settle down. We are in the middle of our ten-year evaluation. It ends tomorrow with a staff meeting after school when the visiting committee will give us a list of commendations and recommendations.
My speech on Sunday went well. I managed to do it from memory so it sounded natural. All the other speakers just stood behind the podium and read theirs. So, I'm glad I practiced.
My mother-in-law is in the hospital with double pneumonia so my husband flew down to care for his father. She's on the mend, though, and will be released sometime this week.
