A Good Week

I've been slow to journal this week after the April marathon.

I had a good week, though. On Thursday I took a professional day and attended the annual Librarian's conference as a guest of our school media specialist. The author of a couple books I teach my tenth graders was the luncheon speaker and she was so entertaining.

Her name is Susan Beth Pfeffer and she wrote Life As We Knew It and the dead & the gone. If you are looking for a couple of really good reads, pick these books up; you won't be disappointed. They are young adult novels but I can't tell you how many adults love them. They are the types of books that just stay with you.

Anyway, it was a treat to have a day off in the middle of the week. It felt so good to not be tired when I got home. I went to Milan and bought all my flowers for the cemeteries, the house in Berlin, and camp. I even did three loads of laundry.

And the icing on the cake? My husband went to camp on Thursday so I had the bed to myself for one night! Oh, did I sleep well!

Baby Fluff

I can't get enough of all the newness!

I took this a couple weeks ago when I was out for my walk.

Ghost Moon

I have no idea how I got that ghostly full moon in the picture. My lens was clean and it didn't appear on any of the other photos I took.

For more sky shots visit SkyWatch Friday.

I Did It!

30 poems in 30 days!

And, like one of my Poetry-writing students said, "And she took us with her!" Their booklets are due on Monday.

So, I didn't feel too guilty about taking a personal day on Friday. I can think of only one or two other times that I've done that in almost 30 years of teaching.

A Favorite Book

With all the reading I do, you'd think this would have been an easy layout to do but I had the hardest time with it!

The fun part, though, was almost rereading the whole book to find a section to quote.

Almost Done!

I did this page at camp this weekend but didn't have much of my "stuff" with me so I looked through some of the letters Anne has sent me over the years and found a few things to put on the page.

Thanks, again, my friend!

At the Beach

We got camp opened up yesterday and today I hopped on my bicycle and pedaled to Ocean Park Beach.

It was beautiful! The temperature was only about 58 degrees but the sun was warm and there weren't very many people around. Perfect!

I wrote a letter and read a book and took pictures.

Want to see more skies go to SkyWatch Friday.
