Tuna #4

Yes, Gary got another tuna today.  He hooked up early at 6:15 this morning and fought it for 4 hours before getting it up to the boat.

Then when he was ready to harpoon it, a huge shark hit it and bit the tail off!

Luckily he was able to get it in the boat.

It weighed in at 420 lbs. but would have been about 450 if the whole thing had been there.

Here's Gary (on the right) with his fishing buddy, Don, admiring their catch.

Next stop: Tokyo.  (For the fish, not Gary!)

A Forgotten Page

Here's a page I missed before.  Don't know why.  Just getting old.

We had a nice visit with family over the Fourth.

Michelle and Kylie wanted to play in my journal so I said sure.  They are both so creative!

Tastefully British

Anne and I went to Tastefully British for lunch today.  It's a wonderful little place in the middle of a strip mall.  Once you walk in the door, however, you're in a different world.  It feels like someone's dining room with all the personal touches.  There are roses and tea sets everywhere.  They even have pictures of their grand kids and great grandkids on the mantel.  It's owned by two British ladies and they do everything themselves.  Their accents were delicious!

Each pot of tea comes in it's own homemade cozy.

We ordered an African mint tea.  It was great!

I got a Cornish Pasty and it was huge and spicy and yummy.  It was accompanied by a side salad.

Here's the mantel with the family pics.

And here I am holding Anne's red purse along with my own outside.  You can see the lace in the widow and all the tea pots.

We had a great time and will definitely go back to this little English jewel in the middle of Sarasota.

My Sister's Quilts

My sister, Nancy, is a quilting machine!

She took me into her quilting room yesterday and I just had to take pictures of this eye candy.

Here are three of the many quilts she has designed and sewed.  The bottom one consists of 3/4 inch squares...lots of 3/4 inch squares!

She's so creative!

A visit with my mom

My husband loves his banana tree and asked me to post a picture of it so he could see his beloved.
Our house is on stilts and this is a picture of it looking down from the top of the stairs.
